Maybe you've stood in a field and felt that pull — that quiet sense that the plants around you have something to say, if only you knew how to listen. Or maybe you've flipped open a field guide, gotten immediately overwhelmed by Latin names and botanical jargon, and quietly closed it again. I've been there too. And I built this course because I believe that knowledge of plants shouldn't live only in academic textbooks or passed down in families lucky enough to have kept it. It belongs to anyone who's willing to slow down, pay attention, and show up with open hands.

What you'll find here isn't a lecture. It's more like a long walk with a knowledgeable friend — someone who'll crouch down next to a patch of roadside herbs and say, here, smell this, or feel how different these two leaves are, or this one has a look-alike and here's exactly how to tell them apart. The Wild Herb Table moves through the whole arc of herbal practice: learning to truly see plants in the field, foraging with ethics and confidence, understanding what herbs actually do in the body (in plain language, not pharmaceutical-speak), and making real preparations at home that you'll reach for again and again.

I want to be honest about what this course is and isn't. It's not a substitute for medical care, and it doesn't pretend to be. What it is is a grounded, careful foundation in a tradition that humans have practiced for as long as we've been walking this earth. By the time you finish, you'll be able to identify more than 20 herbs by sight, scent, and texture; forage legally and sustainably; stock a home apothecary with preparations you made yourself; and grow herbs wherever you live — windowsill, balcony, backyard, or beyond.

The thing I most want for you is not just a skill set. It's a shift in the way you move through the world — a new layer of noticing that, once it opens, never quite closes. You start seeing the plantain pushing through the sidewalk crack. You smell the difference between two mints. You know what's growing at the edge of that trail and what it's good for. That's the real gift of herbal study, and it starts right here. Come as you are. The plants are already waiting.
